To make a change, we need to be able to see what the experts think in what taking the first step is into refining education and what needs to be done. Of course, you know that I’ve been very critical about the school system and what needs to be done to change it. But of course, I can’t just state all these developments, so I went to an education expert to sit down and discuss his take on what needs to change. The following is the 6-question, quick take interview I took to see his response to this system:

Do you happen to have a direct affiliation with the CollegeBoard?

“(We) do not have a direct affiliation with the CollegeBoard, but (our) curriculum is directly aligned with the SAT and ACT”.

Speaking of Standardized Testing, what’s your take on standardized testing?

“I think standardized testing *can* be a good way to reassure academic performance, but there can be an overwhelming amount of tests given to kids”.

Do you think that this curriculum is designed for learning and life, or something else?

” I think that out of all the content it (the curriculum) provides, it’s best applied to critical thinking when used in life”.

He did not specify how well he thinks this curriculum achieves that.

What’s your take on grades?

“Grades are great, if you know how to teach. All too often there are teachers who don’t properly teach the kid the subject well and when you take the test, you don’t recognize half of the suff. ”

Do you happen to hold a negative view on the pressure one receives in school?

“Yes, but it’s not just the school, it’s the parents. It used to be that, to beat your neighbor, you get more expensive things, or grab more achievements, or something like that. Now, it’s about what school your kid goes to. *** of my kids went to *** and my other *** went to *** , but ***’s actually doing better than the other ***”

Censorship provided to protect the security of the expert and his kids.

If you had one thing to say to colleges, what would you say?

“Find a way to lower our costs”.

This wraps up the interview. I found that what he said tends to stay in line with what makes a good first step to amplify education. The man being interviewed requested to stay anonymous. Disclosure of any kind will be passed through his permission first.
