So, like I said. What the hell happened to being for the people?
By not letting an opposition lessen the impact of an action, it's fair game for any party that makes it to the Senate. This isn't about Gorsuch- he makes a decent replacement for Scalia. He's off the hook. But the Senate isn't. They've done a terrible injustice to the healthy opposition. The Republicans blocked the Democrats- was it surprising that they blocked the Republicans this time around?
If the Republicans opposed the block, they could've suggested another nominee... but noooooooo. They decided to go for a filibuster the first time around and pull a hypocritical nuclear option when it doesn't go their way. For a judge. It seems less like the Senate is a professional place for politics and rather a place for 2 parties to cry over who's right and wrong like young toddlers crying over spilled milk. When a traditional Republican(or Democratic) citizen makes less noise about the opposition getting their way, you know there's a problem.
And to add to that, Trump just fired missiles at Syria without congressional approval. I'm not saying that was a wrong move- I'm saying that maybe-just maybe-he would have have the common sense to consult POLITICAL PROFESSIONALS- people who have dealt with Assad far more then him, before he decided to launch missiles at a country that's divided deep in a CIVIL WAR. But instead he just had to go around pushing red buttons like an orange haired orangutan that saw buttons for the first time.
Once again, not listening to others. The government is running around with sharp scissors and that's not good. They're going into freefall, doing whatever the hell they want, to whomever they want, just because they think it's right. Maybe they should have the decency to consult the people that they represent instead of doing what comes to mind.
